Skip, my great American friend, a native Texan. Extraordinary human being, passionate about Soccer, he was an excellent lawyer and politician, but Soccer was his great passion. Skip wrote his name in the history of the game of soccer throughout Texas, created his own club and helped thousands of young Americans, especially Latin Americans because he was fluent in Spanish, as a Director at the Soccer Club. As a masterful lawyer, he supported thousands of causes of families of these young people to live legally in the United States, without charging anything as a professional.
Skip, he was a great friend of mine, we never stopped talking, everything I achieved in the United States of America was because I had the help of this citizen of God. I was very moved, I cried with so much sadness when I found out that my friend was gone, his speech was calm, soft, everything seemed timed, word by word, without increasing the sound, extremely kind and true, affectionate like an older brother. Go in peace my friend. May God receive you in his light. Take a rest. You will be greatly missed, but you have already done your part, with your brilliant time here.
Sergio Lima.

Dear Sergio, my great friend,
I was so happy to hear your voice from Brasil. Yes, besides being totally active in my club, Texas International Soccer Association, I am also very active in politics. Today is the primary election in the County of Fort Bend, southwest of Houston.
Judy and I are enjoying the Barcelona FC win 3 – 0 over Real Madrid FC in Arlington, TX July 29, 2023 in AT&T Stadium with 82,500 of my closest soccer fans.

My hopes and plans to continue the lease and development of a premier soccer center at Loop 610 and Hwy 288 on 10 acres came to a hault last summer. The owners of the land, The Baha’i, tired of the delays and demands of the City of Houston and Texas Department of Transportation over the last 3 years that stopped any further development by Texas International Soccer, and put the land up for sale at a price impossible for me to buy. My efforts to organize a sustainable and economical U23 premier league which depends on the good will and commitment of clubs also fell apart not one but three separate times due to club owners seeking personal advantage or simply failing to unite on common goals. I hope someday soon to revive and recommit to Texas International Soccer as a pathway for young committed players to achieve educational opportunities through soccer.

The proposed league of TISL is currently on hold because some key founding clubs pulled out. We will review the project later this year.
A lot of changes have happened since the World Cup. Texas International Soccer is now planning to organize and administer a premier soccer league called Texas International Soccer League (TISL). In order to be an independent league it will cease operating as a Club or Academy and it will not field teams bearing the name Texas International in direct opposition with other member club teams in TISL. The player eligibility will be open age but the primary focus of TISL will be to promote a pathway for young talented players in transition from youth soccer to college soccer and/or pro-development. TISL is also an ideal league for Clubs already competing in pro-development leagues such as UPSL and USL. These Clubs could expand their player pool and place their younger or reserve team in TISL. We will certainly be more economical and responsive to the member Clubs and the young teams than the alternatives offered by UPSL and USL. In addition to college showcase tournaments TISL member teams though our affiliation and registration through Texas State Soccer Association South (TSSAS) will be eligible to compete in State championships and State, Regional, and National Playoffs as well as the Lamar Hunt National Tournament offered by UPSL and USL.
We hope to begin league play in May. Interested Clubs should contact !!!!
